Joe Bailey has more than 35 years of practice in the criminal arena, first as a prosecutor and later as a defense attorney. He is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1990. He has prosecuted or defended virtually every type and and level of criminal case. In addition to his defense practice, Joe Bailey is called on frequently to lecture at various schools and seminars. He is a former adjunct professor of Trial Advocacy at the University of Houston Law Center. Bailey has served as chair and member of numerous sections or committees with the Houston Bar Association. The majority of Bailey's cases are in state court, where he has built a solid reputation as a trial lawyer.
Bailey received his legal degree from South Texas College of Law in 1980. As an Assistant District Attorney for Harris County from 1980-1987, he handled every type of criminal case.
